SY turned me on to this show, Dexter.
It stars Michael C. Hall from Six Feet Under fame as a Bloodstain Pattern Analysis Investigator for the Miami Police Department by day, and a serial killer by night. His killings are justified by the fact that victims are people who “escaped justice” (other murderers). Complicating the obvious conflicts of his day job and his night life, is another serial killer taunting him.

Hall looks more like the brother of Nate of Six Feet Under in this series than he did in Six Feet Under. But he’s got it down as a serial killer, both emotionally and physically. Hall has that Harvard serial killer look, cum Christian Bale in American Psycho. The theme of the show is very much like American Psycho. In fact, the protagonist in this series uses the ‘Patrick Bateman’ name from American Psycho as an alias in one episode.
The series – shown on Showtime in the US – is based on a trilogy of books with the same name by crime writer Jeff Lindsay. Season one finishes soon, and season two has been ordered.
I highly suggest this show. It’s dark drama.
