Disposable Buildings?

The fate of the Winnipeg Airport Terminal has led to some debate about the future of Winnipeg’s modern buildings built between 1945-1975.

This Wednesday, February 22nd, there will be a panel discussion titled Disposable Buildings or Modernist Gems? with an open invitation to the public to join in.

Panelists will include Serena Keshavjee, Professor of Art History at the University of Winnipeg; Bob Mathieson, Vice-President of Shelter Canadian Properties Limited; Susan Algie,Director, Winnipeg Architecture Foundation; and retired Architect John Petersmeyer. The panel will be moderated by Catherine Mitchell, Editorial Writer for the Winnipeg Free Press.

The panel and discussion will take place at the WFP News Cafe (237 McDermot Ave at Arthur St) this Wednesday February 22, 2012, from 7 – 9 PM.
