Five years ago, I wrote a quick blog post about the laser keyboard that would project a keyboard. The technology exists but no one has applied to it a mobile phone, yet. Aatma Studio created some great concept videos about cool features that should be included in the iPhone 5 expected to be available this Fall.
It’s not “fake”, it’s “a concept” that is way overdue.
Microsoft is about to buy Skype for between $7-8 billion $8.5 Billion reports the Wall Street Journal, the biggest acquisition the company has ever made.
This move would make Microsoft a major player in the video calling and telecommunications market. Think cell phone partners.

Check out this very cool demo of Word Lens, an iPhone Video Translation App specifically for Spanish to English and vice versa.
I’m very excited by this advance in video recognition software, or rather what it is, optical word recognition.
It replaces word for word, assuming the font is normal (it won’t read handwriting) and don’t expect any literary translations.
It’s not perfect as Geek Mom shows, but it’s still very promising. It may come in handy next time I’m in California.
