My Projects:

NewWinnipeg.com :: Started this online magazine over six years ago with the intention of "don't hate the media, be the media". Now, it's incredibly popular within Winnipeg - earning over 3 million pageviews (hits) each month. Special shout outs to Lee-Anne Peluk & Shawna Plischke for their creative input in making the magazine into a far more solid and responsible organization circa 2002.

New Winnipeg Webhosting :: Also started this six years ago and now it rocks! We have several hundred clients and a fast server setup & network. While this takes up most of my time and largely pays my bills, it provides me with a constant mental challenge.

We have over 350 clients, from New York to Vancouver.

Skateboarding Association of Winnipeg :: In early 2001, while working at city hall, I would see security boot skaters off the city hall playa. I started the Association to form a lobby for a world-class skatepark. It was a great experience in successfully raising an issue with the public with absolutely no money. Nearly four years to the day I started this, it was announced that a million-dollar park was going to be built (it was built in Fall 2005)

Search Pro Research :: A linguistic research company I helped put together.

Some Website-Enabled Friends:

Dave Twigg

Rodrigo Riedel

Dave Conroy

Other Interesting People:

Michael Geist: A law professor at the University of Ottawa where he holds the Canada Research Chair in Internet and E-commerce Law. He writes a weekly column on Internet policy projects.

Matthew Skala :: A mess of interesting Canadian law cases impacting technology, copyright and civil life altogether. I especially enjoyed PimpMaster C's financial analogies and the "Which Canadian Supreme Court Justice are you?" questionaire. (This is who I am)

Other Interesting Projects & Groups:

Digium : Open Source telephone & PBX system

Open Source CMS : Just what it says
